In a major coup, the organisers of the audio, lighting and staging tradeshow, Entech Connect have secured two audio themed presentations from stand-out, industry speakers for the event taking place 23-24 July at the Royal Exhibition Building, Carlton Melbourne.
Delivering premium audio at the ‘new’ Adelaide Oval
Recent press reports called it a ‘triumph’ and claimed that the redeveloped Adelaide Oval will ‘define the city’. The venue hosted what was reported as arguably the biggest sporting event held in the city recently, the historic local AFL derby between Port Adelaide and the Adelaide Crows. It was a win for Port Adelaide and a win for the revamped venue.
Attend this case study and learn all about the installation of a stadium system, capable of supporting the needs of the cricket and AFL codes that are the primary users of the new look Adelaide Oval – while being sympathetic to the heritage elements of this iconic facility.
The session, titled Delivering Premium Audio for the ‘new’ Adelaide Oval will discuss the challenges and triumphs of the redevelopment project. It will be a popular session of relevance to architects, AV and IT system integrators, facilities managers, sound engineers/technicians and venue owners.
Chris Dodds from The P.A. People will talk through the details of the project including:
- delivering a system of highly directive roof-suspended cluster-format loudspeakers for majority seating bowl coverage;
- deploying one of the region’s largest Q-SYS systems on a converged network
- finding mounting solutions for the North mound and the Southern Forecourt.
Designing sound – the importance of acoustics
A second audio case study investigates Acoustic Treatments for Performance Spaces, both big and small.
In this session Peter Exton from Marshall Day Acoustics, will talk through a number of recent projects including a new regional centre – the Cube in Wodonga, and the renovation of two venues – Hamer Hall in Melbourne and the Aotea Centre in Auckland. He will illustrate the acoustic design process, including his approach to working with performers, analysing the acoustic performance of spaces, choosing suitable design criteria and incorporating staging infrastructure.
This session will be appeal to sound engineers, acousticians, venue owners and managers, particularly those interested in audio in theatres, clubs, arts centres, houses of worship, and schools.
