Yet again July will be good month to visit Sydney if you are a reader of this blog and are interested in all things technical in the entertainment industry. ENTECH is again being held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, ENTECH and SMPTE co-locate their major trade shows to bring together the very best in Pro-Audio, A/V, Integration, Lighting & Staging services and technologies.
The show will occupy 2 halls this year, at the  Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour. The Centre is conveniently located in the heart of Sydney, just a ten-minute walk from the CBD, and is serviced by most modes of transport.

A Case Study: Sydney Opera House – Building new possibilities.
ENTECH 2013 will again feature an innovative and comprehensive seminar program offering Invaluable insights and knowledge to industry attendees.
The team at ENTECH are excited to announce that the program will included a Case Study presentation on Sydney Opera House’s Stage Management System Project.
Sydney Opera House Director, Theatre and Events David Claringbold had a vision:  “The future is all about engaging and developing content for the multiple platforms the digital world now enables”  The Stage Management System Project, the largest technical infrastructure  development the Sydney Opera House has undertaken, aims to prepare the House for the future by integrating broadcast quality HD camera and video systems along with an audio distribution network, paging, communications systems and new studio production facilities for audio and video.  With the project scheduled to be finalised by August 2013, this timely session at ENTECH will be a first hand account of this visionary project from all those involved.
Presenters will include David Claringbold, Director, Theatre and Events, SOH;
Brad Maiden, Head of Technical Support, SOH with representatives from Rutledge Engineering and Salzbrenner Stagetec.
The Stage Management Desk recently won both the Sydney and Melbourne Design Awards in the category of Product Design – Business and
Technology. They are designed to control everything to do with the performance both front and back of house.
